Committee Overview

As the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, the Disarmament and International Security Council is dedicated to issues concerning global security, arms regulation, and international peace. It acts as an essential platform for tackling threats that go beyond national boundaries — ranging from the spread of conventional weapons to new challenges such as cyber warfare, the militarization of space, and autonomous weapon systems.

Over the years, Eswar has amassed a wealth of experience across numerous UN committees, making him a respected and sought-after figure, particularly in military committees, where his insights and expertise have left a lasting impact. When he's not stressed out by his work, you'll find him gaming or vibing to music. Known for his down-to-earth personality and genuine dedication to fostering collaboration, Eswar is honoured to serve on the Executive Board, ready to champion a space where meaningful dialogue can thrive and every delegate's voice is heard.

Vaibhavi is a IBDP 1 student taking Math, Biology and Chemistry at the Higher Level at Oakridge Gachibowli. She has always been fascinated by the concept of Model UN's. She has participated in Model UN conferences in the capacity of a delegate, secretariat member and the executive board. She has a passion for writing, and her newfound interest in being a journalist for the international press is something she intends to take further. Vaibhavi believes that MUNs are incredible opportunities to widen an individual's exposure to the world, and are generally incredible places to meet new people, and exchange ideas. She is thrilled to be serving as your Rapporteur in DISEC for OakMUN 2025 and looks forward to fruitful debate and creative solutions.
