UNEP works on delivering transformational change for people and nature by drilling down on the root causes of the three planetary crises of climate change which are nature and biodiversity loss, pollution and waste.
Along with this UNEP has been the global authority that sets the environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.

A third-year business student, Deepshika ascertained her inquisitiveness toward international relations and attended her inaugural MUN in 2014 and is now acquainted with all standpoints, whether it's delegating, photography or journalism. Additionally, having served as the Director General of Oakridge Model United Nations in 2019, she is elated to be back for the 12th edition, with the intention to learn, lead and help compose solutions in the course of the conference.

Faraaz Uddin is a seasoned MUNer and a passionate debater. Currently pursuing law, he has been a proactive member of the Hyderabad circuit for over half a decade now and has been closely affiliated with conferences in various capacities: a delegate, an EB member, and an organiser; having won prestigious accolades in all of them.
Being a voracious reader, he will pick up literally any conversation on topics ranging from high-protein greek yogurt to the relevance of envy in human nature, Nietzsche's genealogy of morals with respect to its impact on education and politics. At leisure, you can find him laughing off the darkest of jokes on his Reddit feed, or digging his nose into the world of wisdom that poetry offers.
He values a committee with cutthroat debate and loves an energetic session any day. Faraaz is beyond excited to contribute as your Vice Chairperson for the United Nations Environmental Programme at Oakridge MUN 2022.
